Offers a complete range of maintenance and repair products. This category includes three main areas: cooling systems, electrical installations and seals, all of which may need to be replaced as part of maintenance and repair mechanisms.
Repair and maintenance products can be broadly divided into three categories:
cooling system
electrical installation
Seals
cooling system
The cooling system protects your engine from damage caused by overheating. They are usually water cooling systems that combine a radiator and water pump that work together to remove a lot of the heat generated during combustion.
Cooling systems, electrical installations and seals make up the repair and maintenance series.
The radiator is designed to dissipate heat. Its design includes as much surface area as possible, with tubes inside the radiator arranged in a long ring to increase the available heat dissipation area. The water flowing through the engine flows into these tubes, where heat is dissipated, usually with the aid of a fan to aid the cooling process.
A water pump circulates this water in a continuous cycle, delivering cold water to the engine and expelling hot water as it flows out. In addition, the oil lubrication system also helps to dissipate the heat generated when the engine is running.
An engine that runs too hot not only risks overheating, but can also have consequences such as poor performance and increased fuel consumption.
electrical installation
The electronic product range includes:
starter motor
alternator
Every engine needs a functioning, reliable electrical system to start it and power the rest of the machine. The starter motor provides power to turn the engine to initiate the compression routine in diesel engines. It has to be very reliable – we test every starter motor to make sure it will start at least 36,000 times, which is the equivalent of twice a day, every day, for nearly 50 years.
The alternator continuously charges the battery while the engine is running, ensuring no drain. It also regulates the amount of power flowing back to the battery so that it doesn’t overcharge.
Seals
The engine’s two main seals are the front and rear oil seals, located at either end of the crankshaft, with one end attached to the flywheel and the other to the fan. They can also be found in many other places on your engine.
Seals are usually made of high-grade flexible rubber compounds that can withstand a variety of extreme temperatures.
Replacing the seals in the engine and following the recommendations in the owner’s manual is always highly recommended when doing any kind of general overhaul. It also identifies the part number for the replacement seal.
